What do you need to start making your Jesmonite figures?

- JESMONITE AC100 KIT (AC BASE + AC Liquid)
- 2 mixing cups. Disposable or silicone. Make sure they are clean and dry.
- Scale
- Mixing blades (the best option to avoid bubbles)

Here are some simple steps to know the dosage of JESMONITE:

JESMONITE CALCULATOR

How to use your Jesmonite AC100 kit:

1- Prepare your work area and cover the surface to avoid damage.
2- Protect your hands with gloves.
3- Choose your mold!
4- Shake the liquid well and weigh the correct amount of liquid into one of the mixing cups using the scale. In the other cup, weigh the base powder.
DO NOT MIX the two yet.

5- COLOUR! In case your figure is coloured, now is the time to add the Jesmonite colourant / pigment to the liquid. You can add up to 2% of the total weight of Jesmonite (i.e. powder and liquid).
The less pigment, the paler/pastel color, the more pigment, the brighter and more vivid color.
Jesmonite pigments are highly concentrated and go a long way. Just one drop of the dye will produce a noticeable colour change.
Once the desired amount of coloring has been added, stir the liquid well.
6- MIX IT ALL! Now, mix the powder and the liquid. Always pour the powder into the liquid and never the other way around.
Mix until smooth.

If any air bubbles form, lightly tap the mixing glass before you begin pouring into the mold.

And that's it! After about 15 minutes, you will notice that the piece is very hot to the touch (exothermic). The mixture will solidify in about 30 - 40 minutes. It should be cold, this indicates that it is ready to UNMOLD .

*Jesmonite takes about 24 hours to cure. harden completely. However, never leave the piece in the mold for that long as it could cause sweating inside the mold and therefore the figure will have unwanted marks.
